Kapiti to Molesworth Fly-In High Country

Avoid the long journey south and fly straight into the high country - 4 days

From 4,990 New Zealand dollars

Tour Description

From Kapiti, a scenic flight takes you from the coast into the heart of the high country. In under 30 minutes, you’ll go from sea level to wide open valleys. You’ll land on a working merino high country station, where you’ll stay for the next three nights. From the moment you land, you’re in it. Over the following days, we explore this remote region by 4WD, travelling across high country stations including Molesworth — New Zealand’s largest high country station. The landscapes are vast, the roads are gravel, and there is little to no cell coverage. We travel through remote valleys, along riverbeds, and into places that few people reach, guided by someone who knows the country well. Along the way, you’ll meet locals, hear their stories, and gain an insight into life in these remote places. We take care of all the logistics – flights, accommodation, meals and transport – so you can simply enjoy the experience. Each tour is unique Our small groups allow us to adapt to the weather and better support the particular interests of our guests. We continue to refine this journey each season, working closely with the people we visit to ensure the experience remains genuine, relaxed, and well-paced. Tour Highlights - Return scenic flights from Paraparaumu Airport, landing directly on a high country station - Visit the Awatere Valley and enjoy a home-cooked lunch at Camden Station, shared with the family who live and work there - Three nights on a 16,550-hectare high country station beneath the Inland Kaikōura Ranges - Meals prepared by the station chef, using local produce - Guided 4WD farm tour, including lunch at the station’s historic musterers’ hut - Travel through Molesworth Station, with stops for short walks and visits to historic sites such as St Helen’s swing bridge - Local guiding, with stories and insight into the region - Small group travel (6–8 guests) Tour Inclusions - Return private flights from Kapiti to a High Country Station - 3 nights of accommodation in modern shearers quarters - All transport throughout the tour in a comfortable 4WD vehicle - 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners - All listed activities, including farm tour, boat cruise, and guided walks - Exclusive access to private properties and lesser-known locations Tour Exclusions - Snacks and alcoholic beverages - Travel insurance - The tour begins and ends at Kapiti.
