On Sunday I had the privilege to show members of the Kiwi Conservation club a little of the Wairau lagoon and river environment. It was great fun with some interesting questions and knowledgeable young conservationists. This was a first for Driftwood Ecotours taking a club with very similar interests to ourselves and most enjoyable. By way of agreement they made a donation me which will be used to fund trees on our covenanted Queen Elizabeth trust wetland.

Monday, October 3rd, 2011It’s a while since our last blog as we have increased our stock numbers with extra lambs, 2 pigs and 5 Alpaca. This has meant extra fencing plus water works. Have had several successful early kayak toursĀ plus taken on a part time gardening job.

It’s a busy week with the inaugural Indulge Marlborough Wine and Cuisine festival starting on Thursday. Highlights include Anna Coddington, Paul Urbana Jones and our local girl Sarah Brown all singing plus chef’s Johnny Schwass and Chris Fortune. Also we shall have the pleasure of Justin Marshall as one of the guests.
Have planted more trees enhancing our wetland environment and reducing our client’s carbon footprint and looking for more ways to be sustainable.
cheers Will
Yealands Estate Wines, Awatere Autumn muster run by the Seddon Lions Club.
Sunday, May 17th, 2009After some of the most severe winds recorded in this area for some time (140km gusts) the dawn looked promising for the Yealands Estate Wines mountain bike race organised by the Seddon Lions club. As I travelled up the valley towards Richmond Brook where the event was based it was still gusty but clearing with rainbows enhancing the landscape.
This race was found challenging but exciting and the looks of concentration on the riders faces says it all.
