Kayaking season 2009/2010

Royal Spoonbills were showing awsome breeding plumage on our 1st kayak tour out to the Wairau bar and Cloudy Bay.  Our kayakers handled the conditions well as off shore in Cloudy Bay and Cook strait there was still a stiff southerly. The Opawa and Wairau rivers were much higher than usual due to to heavy rains over the last week so gave us different veiws of the coastal landforms.

On our return we had a large group of young cattle wondering who on earth we were and on approaching them they took off throwing their legs in the air with bovine excitement!

As the daylight disappeared the river became very surreal with a lovely spring light show which even Tommy the logo dog was transfixed by.

We are pleased to announce that Driftwood ecotours has a spring/ christmas deal
